Have you ever broken the glass tube of your vape? Well, I know it sucks…It has happened to me! I accidentally dropped my vape on the floor and there it was, the Pyrex glass broken, and e-juice spilled on the floor. To be honest, it wasn’t that easy to replace the glass and that’s why I want to share my experience with you. Some vapers have shared their experiences with a broken vape glass tube and how after inhaling from the drip tip, they felt a small but razor-sharp piece of glass. Therefore, if you ever break your vape glass tube, follow this guideline to avoid injure your mouth.
1. Remove the Remnant Parts from your Base Hardware
When you a glass tube breaks, some parts remain on the base hardware. You need to remove these pieces of glass in order to install a new vape glass tube. Be extremely careful when you remove it as these glass pieces could be razor sharp and you can easily cut your fingers in the process.
2. Vape Glass Tube: Clean Thoroughly with Water
Clean your vape thoroughly as there might be very tiny shards of glass in the base hardware, drip tip or even inside the coil. Therefore, I recommend you that you even replace the coil for a new one.
Make sure your base hardware, drip tip and top hardware are free of any shards of glass. In addition, remove the o-rings and clean them with soap. This is the best way to make sure that your vape glass tube is completely clean.
3. Vape Glass Tube: Replace the Coil
I broke my glass tube recently and I didn’t replace the coil for a new one. However, some vapers have shared their experience on social networks that a tiny piece of glass went into the mouth after inhaling from the drip tip. Therefore, I recommend you replace the coil for a new one as it is the safest measure.
4. Make Sure Everything is Glass Free
Double check your vape doesn’t have any shards of glass left. Sometimes, when you install the new vape glass tube, you will hear the crunch of small glass shards. If this is the case, clean all tank surfaces again with soap and water.
5. Vacuum the Floor!
When my vape glass tube broke, there was e-liquid on the floor and several pieces of glass even under the sofa! Clean the floor well with a broom or use a vacuum cleaner to make sure there are no pieces left on the floor. A piece of glass in the foot or toes isn’t a very pleasurable feeling…
