Have you ever detected an e-liquid that has already been used? Perhaps you’ve just put your new vape juice in your tank and noticed that it tastes strange? If you’ve ever had this problem, you’ve probably experienced “flavor ghosting.”

A proper cleaning and maintenance routine for your vaping equipment might help you avoid flavor ghosting. Some folks, on the other hand, like to use a separate clearomizer for each type of e-juice that they enjoy vaping.

Flavor ghosting is a common source of frustration for many vapers. This, however, can be readily remedied by following a few simple guidelines. Let’s get started!

How do You Avoid Flavor Ghosting?

If you can detect traces of your prior e-juices when vaping, this can impact  your overall experience. Nonetheless, this is readily avoidable with proper care and periodic cleaning of your clearomizers and drip tips.

It’s especially unpleasant if the mixture of flavors is very different, for example, if the vaper used coffee e-liquids first and then fruit flavors, the result will be particularly unpleasant. When this occurs, the most effective method of avoiding flavor ghosting is to maintain your vaping device as clean as possible. To put it another way, you must make certain that all traces of the previously used e-liquid have been properly removed from the area.

1) Start by cleaning each portion of your clearomizer with a paper towel, starting with the glass tube and working your way down to the drip tip. It is as simple as keeping it clean. If you want to experience a fresh flavor that hasn’t been contaminated by another flavor that was previously used, it may take some time, but the wait is worth it. If you are experiencing flavor ghosting, properly clean your clearomizer to remove any remnants of past flavors that may be present.

2) Next, use tap water to thoroughly clean each component. If you want to clean each part of your clearomizers, use hot water rather than boiling water. It’s also possible to fill the clearomizers with hot water and shake them for a few minutes. After you’ve finished pouring the water, you should proceed to dry the leftover water droplets.

3) Continue shaking for a few more minutes, or until the water no longer appears cloudy.

4) Allow the device and all of its components to dry overnight so that they are completely dry and ready to use in the morning.

How Often Should You Clean It?

It depends on how often you use it. The best practice, however, is to clean your device no less than once a month. If flavor ghosting occurs, you may wish to clean your system more frequently than once a month as a precaution. Keep in mind that maintaining a clean vape tank is essential for a great vaping experience.

In this guide, you can see how to easily fix flavor ghosting.
