aspire 18650 battery

It has long been a concern not only among the reputable manufacturers like Aspire, but also of the authorities such as the FDA on the safety of batteries in the e-cig industry.

So many times have we heard reports of batteries catching fire, causing fires and even exploding in use!

These battery issues can be found in reports on toys, electrical tools, mobile phones, in fact almost anything that requires a rechargeable battery.

Probably the latest battery ‘bandwagon’ for people to jump on recently has been that of the e-cigarette. Reports of e-cigs catching fire in peoples’ pockets and purses, incidents of them catching fire whilst charging, and batteries exploding causing property damage, these reports of end-user incidents have been put down to numerous factors, such as faulty batteries, user misuse or actual fake batteries.

On the 19th April this year SEVIA USA (of whom Aspire is a founder member) attended a seminar that was held to address these battery issues and to find ways to regulate the battery industry. The FDA itself is also in the process of compiling rules and regulations concerning batteries. Though there are not currently any standing  rules or regulations concerning batteries for the E-cig industry, Aspire is obviously looking forward to reasonable rules and regulations in this industry for the sake of, and to ensure the safety of its customers.
