All vapers have experienced these undesirable side effects of vaping. Both vape leaking and spitting (also known as spitback) aren’t pleasant experiences. It doesn’t have to be part of your vaping experience.

If you follow these tips, you can drastically reduce these side effects and fully enjoy your vaping experience.

Nobody likes e-liquid spilling or a vape that is constantly leaking . Manufacturers have improved their vapes to offer better quality tanks to reduce both spitback and vape leaking.

Vape Leaking: How to Prevent it?

There are many ways you can prevent leaks. Vape leaking happens when e-liquid escapes from your tank. Sometimes, it just a few drops while some other times it can completely empty your tank. Moreover, this happens to all famous brands, it’s not something that you can prevent by choosing one or another brand.

However, there are ways to prevent it and we will show you here the best ways to avoid vape leaking.

1. Remove E-Liquid in the Chimney

E-liquid in the chimney causes gurgling and leaking and it usually gets there by accident. Clean it with a paper towel or some toilet paper to dry the chimney.

2. Make Sure you Seal is in Good Conditions

Sometimes vape leaking happens because you have not fastened the tank properly. Check if the seal is in good condition and if you have fastened it correctly.

3. Keep your Vape Upright

Some tanks are not designed to be kept on their side. These tanks will start leaking through the airflow and even the drip tip. To prevent it, keep you vape vertically.

4. Check if your Vape O-Rings are Damaged

A broken o-ring could cause leakages. Check carefully your vape o-rings for tears or missing o-rings. It’s easy to replace the o-rings and usually our vaping devices come with a set of extra o-rings.

5. Put a Lid on your Vape

If you leave you tank for a prolonged time without vaping it, then the e-liquid will most likely leak through the airflow. Some vapes come with a lid such as the Aspire Breeze NXT.

6. Do Not Overfill the Tank

This is one of the most common causes of leakages. Try not to overfill your vape tank and always leave some air in the tank. This empty space will help you prevent vape leaking.

7. Close the Airflow when you Fill the Tank

Keep the airflow close when you fill your tank. Moreover, make sure you have enough airflow when you vape. If you inhale too forcefully you risk getting too much e-liquid into the coil.

8. Choose the Right E-Liquid

PG has a lower viscosity than VG, which means that it has more chances to leak from your tank. If you want to avoid vape leaking, choose an e-liquid with at least 60% VG content. Nonetheless, take into account that if you value flavor over clouds, a higher VG content isn’t the best option for you.

9. Check Your Tank for Cracks

It might sound obvious, but this is one of the main causes of vape leaking. Check your tank for cracks and replace the tank glass for a new one if it’s cracked.

10. Check your Coils

Check if your coil is correctly screwed to the base hardware. In addition, sometimes coils may have manufacturing problems. Therefore, check if your coil absorbs e-liquid or if it has problems in holding the e-liquid.

What About Spitback?

Spitback happens when e-liquid shoots into vapers’ mouth. Sometimes these droplets are very hot. Spitbacks aren’t very pleasant, but there are ways to reduce them. Let’s check how:

1. Don’t Add too Much E-liquid When you Prime your Coil

If you put too much e-liquid then you can easily cause flooding and most likely, this excess of e-liquid will spitback into your mouth. Add just a few droplets of e-liquid when you prime your coils.

2. Use a Thicker E-Liquid

The same advice applies here. VG is more viscous than PG, which means that it will not cause spitback like PG.  E-liquids with more PG will cause more spitback than e-liquids with a higher vegetable glycerin ratio.

3. Choose a New Drip Tip

There are anti-spitback drip tips which are normally longer than normal drip tips.

4. Keep the Chimney Clean

E-liquid collected in the chimney can also cause spitback. Clean it with a paper towel or some toilet paper to dry the chimney.

5. More Wattage

Sometime too low wattage means that you are not vaporizing the e-liquid properly. Try to set the wattage a bit higher to properly vaporize the e-liquid.

6. Press the Firing Button before inhaling

Finally, try to press the firing button a couple of times before inhaling. This process can help you prevent spitbacks.

Vape Leaking: Conclusion

With these easy steps you can greatly reduce both spitback and vape leaking. Most of times, it’s just a simple process that can be done in just a few minutes.
