Pod mods are very popular nowadays. Pod mods are not that different from standard pod systems or vape mods. Rather, they are like a combination of both. They have the portability of a pod system with settings and wattage of a standard mod. Consequently, you can vape a pod mod in two different styles: MTL and DTL.

Pod mods are basically a mod that instead of using a tank uses a pod. These pods could be refillable or disposable.

Aspire has recently launched three pod mods with similar features: The Aspire Nautilus Prime, Aspire BP60 and BP80.

How to Vape a Pod Mod

Pod mods are versatile vapes and they are suitable for DTL and MTL vaping. In addition, pod mods are ideal for both nicotine salts and non-nicotine e-juices.

Aspire’s pod mods come with different vape settings. Both the BP60 and BP80 offer different vape settings. For example, you can choose between “auto” and “manual” modes. The manual mode allows the user to adjust the output wattage while the auto mode is a mart vaping mode that will automatically detect the coil resistance and select the optimal wattage range.

You can vape a pod mod in many different vaping styles. It is both suitable for nicotine salts and non-nicotine e-liquids. If you want to vape high-nicotine e-liquids, then you can opt to vape it with 1-ohm coils suitable for MTL vaping. On the other hand, if you prefer non-nicotine e-juices, pod mods are capable to fire up to 60-80 watts, which make them ideal for this type of e-liquids and DTL vaping.

Is it More Complicated to Vape a Pod Mod than a Pod System?

You need to learn how to use your pod mod as it has more features than a simple pod system vape. Most of pod mods have different vaping mods, puff counter and other features such adjustable wattage. In short, they are not as simple as pods but you will not find them too complicated either. For example, some traditional pod systems are just auto-draw devices, and many pod systems don’t even have airflow adjustment.

The BP60 or BP80 pod mod are more complex than simple pod systems such as the Aspire Breeze, Breeze 2 or Breeze NXT. For example, the BP80 has two vaping modes, auto mode and manual mode. Auto mode will instantly detect the coil resistance you are using and dial the device to automatically deliver the optimum power level. On the other hand, the manual mode, allows you to have full control over the UI, setting the device’s parameters yourself. In this mode, you can adjust the output wattage from 1 to 80 watts. Press “+” or “-” button to adjust the wattage value.

The Aspire BP80 pod mod can fire up to 80 watts.
The Aspire BP80 pod mod can fire up to 80 watts.

Furthermore, in pod mods like the BP80 you can select many different vaping modes. The Aspire BP80 has three modes: A) automatic draw; B) firing button and AB mode or both automatic and firing button.

In conclusion, a pod mod is a pod system with a chipset, more vaping modes and often more power than a typical pod system. The Aspire BP80 has the same features as many advanced mods including many safety features such as vaping over-time protection, open circuit protection, short circuit protection, low resistance protection, low voltage protection and overheat protection.
