Aspire Nautilus tanks have been very popular since we first launched the first Nautilus tank. Last January, Aspire launched the Nautilus GT Kit consisting of the 75 watts Glint mod and the Nautilus GT tank.  The Nautilus GT tank was designed in cooperation with Taifun and intended to be a restricted DTL and MTL tank.

The GT tank is an efficient and solid design that offers a very effective vaping experience. In May 2020, Aspire released a smaller version of the GT tank that can fit many other mods. This new version is slightly smaller, and it comes with a different metal sleeve. This new version is also a cooperation between Aspire and Taifun.

Difference Between Nautilus GT and Nautilus GT Mini

Basically, both tanks offer the same vaping experience. Both the Nautilus GT and Nautilus GT Mini are excellent restricted DTL and MTL tanks. Furthermore, both tanks are made of stainless-steel and they both come with PEI drip tips. In addition, both glass tanks are made of Pyrex glass.

The GT standard version has a tank capacity of 3 ml, while the Nautilus GT Mini is slightly smaller with a tank capacity of 2.8 ml. The dimensions of the GT Mini tank are also slightly smaller. For instance, the Nautilus GT is 54 mm in height and 24 mm in diameter, while the Nautilus GT is 54 mm in height and 22 mm in diameter. However, both tanks are basically the same. For example, both tanks have 5 airflow adjustments and they both are compatible with Nautilus coils.

The Nautilus GT and GT Mini come with preinstalled 2S mesh coils for restricted DTL vaping and one extra coil, the Nautilus BVC 1.6-ohm coil for MTL vaping. The Nautilus 2S coils are made of Kanthal and the Nautilus BVC 1.6-ohm coil is made of nichrome.

Furthermore, the GT Mini comes with a blue version, while the GT tank comes with a gunmetal version. The GT Mini has four color options: blue, black, stainless-steel and gold. On the other hand, the GT tank comes with a stainless-steel, gunmetal, rose gold and black versions.

Nautilus GT vs Nautilus GT Mini: Metal Sleeve

GT Mini: new and more protective metal sleeve.
GT Mini: new and more protective metal sleeve.

This is one of the main differences between both tanks. The metal sleeve is completely different in both tanks. For instance, the Nautilus GT comes with a metal sleeve that allows you to see more the Pyrex glass tank. On the other hand, the GT Mini tank comes with a metal sleeve that covers more parts of the Pyrex glass to protect it from blows.

The Nautilus GT Mini is perfect for vapers that want a tank with a smaller diameter and smaller tank capacity. Moreover, the metal sleeve is perfect for vapers that care more about protecting their tanks from blows (I, myself, broke more than one Pyrex glass).

How Do I Vape the Nautilus GT and the Nautilus GT Mini?

Basically, both tanks are vaped the same way. Both the Nautilus GT and GT Mini employ the same coils. Nonetheless, the GT tank is slightly bigger, which means that you can vape it for a bit more time without the need to refill it than the Nautilus GT Mini tank.

Besides size and capacity, they are basically the same tank. If you are looking for a smaller tank, then you should choose the GT Mini. In addition, it could be as simple as you prefer the design of the GT over the GT Mini or vice versa.

Filling the tank is also the same in both tanks, you just simply need to remove the top cap by twisting it anticlockwise until the dots on the top hardware are aligned.

I personally prefer a tank with a more protective metal sleeve like the Aspire Nautilus GT Mini. However, many vapers prefer a tank that is easier to see the e-liquid level. If that’s your case, then the GT tank is a better option for you.

Nautilus GT vs Nautilus GT Mini: Conclusion

We have compared the Nautilus GT with the Nautilus GT Mini. Both tanks are very similar but with some variations. For instance, the GT is slightly bigger (diameter and e-liquid capacity) and the metal sleeve is also different.

The Nautilus GT Mini protects the Pyrex glass more than the GT tank as the metal sleeve covers more parts of the Pyrex glass.

The vaping experience is very similar as both tanks are designed for a restricted DTL and an MTL vaping style.
